My IP Address displays your current IP address.

Instructions:

When you access the internet your computer is given number known as an IP address or Internet Protocol address. This address enables your computer to communicate with other computers and for other computers to know where to send their responses.

More often than not your computer is accessing the internet using a shared connection and is not directly connected. For example at home or in the office you'll be connected to other computers and devices using a local area network and then that network will be connected to the internet using a router. The router in a home environment is often the same device you have installed to connect to the internet via ADSL, cable or wireless.

When you are using a shared connection to the internet your computer is given a port addrees in addition to the IP address. The combination of the IP address and port address uniquely locates your computer on the internet so that data to and from your computer is correctly routed.
