PRODUCTS

The following are products that Online Connections develops and maintains.

  • MyAnswers – a database of documented solutions to client problems.

An incredible resource with over 1,400 documented solutions to problems raised by clients. This resource is available to all businesses and whilst every solution can save money, some can save hundreds to thousands of dollars.

More amazing is the solutions are made available for the equivalent of one tenth of an hour of support time, and not the time it took to solve the problem.

The database already contains 10's of thousands of dollars worth of invaluable information.

  • OzEfilter – an easy to use program to beat unwanted emails.

None of the current solutions for controlling spam and viruses worked to our satisfaction, so we researched the situation and produced a new approach.

The result is a product which keeps unwanted emails out of the computer. Yes that's right. The unwanted emails never reach your computer.

Letting an unwanted email into your computer could lead to costly support bills. OzEfilter adds another layer of defence.

  • MyAds – an online course for businesses wanting to put their business on the Internet.

We and our clients use the MyAds approach to developing and maintaining websites. By using the DIY approach savings in the order of thousands of dollars can be achieved. In addition it is often faster to do the changes yourself than to wait for someone else to fit you in.

  • MiniBooks – a number of eBooks we have written.

We have produced a number of MiniBooks to assist our clients. Using Linux as a file server is beyond the skill of many Microsoft support people. Our MiniBook makes it possible for computer people with limited skill to set up a computer as a file server and save thousands of dollars.

Our MiniBook on using OpenOffice.org queries to query an MS Access database is the only reference of its type. Without this MiniBook people will continue to be unproductive and never realise the true power of MS Access and OpenOffice.org when used together.

OpenOffice.org users will be stuck with single user or overly complicated client server solutions that still don't deliver the power of MS Access and OpenOffice.org when combined.

We provide invaluable tips and experience which is not provided elsewhere.

  • Australian Dictionary – the versions of files we maintain for use in OpenOffice.org and others programs.

We produced the original Australian English dictionary for spell checking in OpenOffice.org. These files are now used in many of the major open source projects.

For us however this was not enough. There are thousands of American spelt words in the dictionary and thesaurus. Our aim is to provide language files which remove as many of the American spellings as we can.

Those who want to continue to use language files with American spelt words can continue to use the files from the project. Those who like us want to remove American spellings now have that choice.

It your child is coming home from school with spelling corrections on their work because they don't realise they are using American spelling, our dictionary files fix that problem.

Many teachers complain about the American spellings in their word processor software. Now they can at last do something about it.

  • VoIP

Whilst not strictly a product we maintain, this page provides sufficient information for people to get started with Voice over Internet at almost no charge.

Voice over Internet offers the potential for considerable savings in the cost of communicating with others. It is worthwhile making the effort to test VoIP. By using our approach you can get started and bring yourself up to date with this technology.

We provide full information on each of the above products on separate pages. Click on the links above for more information.
